Wow, like a soap opera. The insults are flying over at x360a faster than I’m able to read them. One of the teams used a “loophole” rule to do what the majority of the league considers to be cheating. They had 3 of their 6 team members play for multiple weeks offline and watched what the competition was doing. They managed to score enough points to avoid elimination and then logged on this morning with a massive 22,000 point gain between 3 of them. Needless to say the league is up in arms, insults are being tossed out dozens per minutes and many people may just walk away from the whole league.
Our commissioner sadly finds this all humorous and rather than side with the majority of the league has decided to egg certain people on and say it was a great strategy and everyone is just upset they didn’t think of it. Unfortunately, in just a few minutes, he managed to destroy several years of the integrity of the league.
There was a private chat that took place that I was not part of (and glad not to be) and I heard that got even more heated and resulted in one team quitting. Several insulting results were made about the team members by the commissioner and they decided they didn’t want to participate in a league where someone would resort to such personal insults. Our “commish” claims he walked away from the computer and his wife typed the insults. LOL, I don’t think that makes it any better, that may even be worse, since she has no part in being part of it to begin with.
Luckily, some of the other moderators, seeing that an injustice was being done, stepped in and came to a solution. This week will not count. We will resume play on July 13th and it will be a one week double elimination week, with all scores starting at zero. With one team dropping out, that may change and become single elimination, I’m just not sure yet. My team was very close to leaving but after some discussion decided we would stay and whatever happens happens. If we get eliminated next week, so be it, no big deal, we’ll finish it as a team. Glad to be on Team AMP, couldn’t have asked for better teammates, integrity to the end.
