UFC 88: Results

UFC 88, took place in Atlanta, Georgia on Saturday evening, September 6, 2008. Nate Marquadt looked very impressive knocking out Martin Kampmann. I was happy to see Dan Henderson get back to his winning ways, as he’s such a better fighter than has shown in UFC. Looking forward to Hendo getting back on track. Rich Franklin, who moved up from 185 to 205, picked apart Matt Hamill before ending it with a kick to the mid-section that floored Hamill. The main event saw Rashad Evans dance around for the first 5 minutes against Chuck Liddell. In round 2, Evans caught Liddell with an overhand punch that knocked him cold. This was very disappointing for me, as I a huge Liddell fan, but also because I strongly dislike Evans, who walks around like he’s God’s gift to the world. I’d like to see Evans fight Rampage or Wandy next and just see then annihilate him.

Rashad Evans def. Chuck Liddell by KO (Punch) at 1:51, R2
Rich Franklin def. Matt Hamill by TKO (Kick to Ribs) at 0:39, R3
