I know I have a few followers, but not many, but for those of you who do check out my blog, I wanted to let you know I’m taking a little break (or perhaps a big break.) I started this as something to do with encouragement that I would write everyday for enjoyment. It was supposed to be about everyday life but it escalated into more of an MMA blog. Not that I mind writing about MMA!!!

Life has been very crappy this year with all of my health problems and as of late struggling with how I’ve been feeling, this has been more of a task than an enjoyment. I haven’t given up writing, I’m just focusing it elsewhere, as I am writing a novel. After consulting with a few people about it, I’ve gotten the encouragement to move forward with it and I’m going to begin working more on that. My goal really isn’t to get published; this is more a project for myself. Something I’ve always wanted to do and something I need to prove to myself that I can do. The details of the novel are private at the moment and not something I am going to discuss until I’m much further along in the project.

I’ll still update here and there but it won’t be daily.

Challenge of Champions Update

After 9 days of competition, the scores in NaiLSONS Challenge of Champions are much higher than I thought they’d be.

Currently the top 3 are:

I currently sit in 15th place with slightly over a 1000 points.

Dana White sounds off on EliteXC wrongdoings

The Seth Petruzelli / Kimbo Slice fight is now under investigation by the Florida State Athletic Commission. As it turns out, Petruzelli was paid money prior to the fight for a knock out bonus, which would leave him standing against Kimbo, rather than taking him down where he’d be a stronger fighter.

The one notable event worth mentioning was the meltdown of Jason Guida, brother of Clay Guida. After watching Jason fail to make wait and never getting his opportunity to fight to get into the house for the Ultimate Fighter this summer, this fight would be his redemption. However, he was dominated for the majority of the fight. At one point, he lost his mouthpiece at a crucial time in the fight. Referee stopped the fight and a several minute search was conducted for it. They tried to give him a new mouthpiece and he swatted it away from the ref. Ref threatened to DQ him, but the original mouthpiece was found at the same time, washed off and the fight resumed. Guida was then pounded on and was up against the cage with his hands up, but not doing anything defensive. His opponent just continued to tee off on him, not necessarily connecting with everything, but again, Guida did nothing and the ref finally stepped in. Guida then shoved the ref, so I’m not so sure we’ll see Guida again in EliteXC.

New camera

Got a new camera and I haven’t really messed with any of the more professional lenses yet, but from just a few quick moments, I am loving it. I snapped a quick shot of our fish tank.

Shitty week this week, I went 2-7 in my leagues. Very bad.

In my picks group, I got 8 correct and am currently tied for 2nd place.

Health updates…

I have a few upcoming tests coming up and will be tested for lung and brain issues. Doctors are also looking to see if narcolepsy is an issue that I am experiencing, even though it’s fairly rarely diagnosed. I’ve experienced some of the experiences where I feel paralyzed and such. I personally don’t think I have it, but I think these tests may finally reveal something.

The shocker of the week, the month, maybe the year. Ken Shamrock is unable to fight Kimbo Slice. Shamrock suffered a cut that required 6 stitches during a light practice and has been medically disqualified by the Florida State Athletic Commission. Filling in for Ken Shamrock is Seth Petruzelli, a former Ultimate Fighter participant. Petruzelli caught Kimbo with a quick punch and jumped on top for a stunning 14 second knockout.
